The images and text in this
web site are multimedia component of my project Small
Towns, Black Lives. This work is a record of
my interest in the historically African American communities
of southern New Jersey. These pages contain representations
of my photographs, text, panoramic images and QuickTime video. Small
Towns, Black Lives is not a historical resource,
it is a visual journal of discovery, memory, and recognition.
The current version of the web site is
based on a previous site called The Cemetery. The
Cemetery site went on-line in early 1995 and is now
incorporated into Small Towns, Black Lives as
the community Port Republic.
This web
site uses Flash 6 and QuickTime. Some of the files are large – if
you are using a slower internet connection you may experience
slight delays |
